The first light of dawn had barely begun to filter through the heavy curtains of the Rajveer-Lavanya suite. The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the ceiling fan and the faint rustle of the sheets as Lavanya shifted, careful not to wake Rajveer. Her body moved like a shadow across the room, each step deliberate. She was determined not to disturb him he deserved rest, even if the early hour was for chores and household duties.
Lavanya slid her feet from beneath the blankets, the coolness of the marble floor making her inhale sharply. She moved toward the small dressing area near the window, careful to keep her movements soft. As she bent to tie her hair back, the silver anklet she always wore brushed against itself with a delicate tinkle a sound so faint, yet somehow in the quiet room, it felt amplified.
