Thirty two

The heavy wooden door of the room slammed open with a thundering crash, the sound echoing like an explosion across the silent corridor. Rajveer stood at the threshold, his chest heaving, his jaw so tight it could have been carved from stone. His broad shoulders filled the doorway, a storm barely contained in human form.

"Lavanya!" his voice cut through the still air like a whip deep, raw, filled with fury and something else... something even more dangerous: fear.
